In 2010, Russia won the right to host its first major football tournament – FIFA Confederations Cup™️ 2017. Visa, the global sponsor of FIFA, was looking for creative ways to engage millennials and drive preference for Visa card usage.
 
How do you achieve that when mobile devices own all of their attention?

Fans, especially millennials, share a 360-degree passion for football – playing, watching and gaming. We have decided to connect football's real and virtual worlds through an online game built around the most decisive moment – the penalty.

Instead of the traditional game design, we challenged the execution of this campaign by using live-action as one of the authentic sides compared to other campaigns from other brands that advertise a similar theme.
